WELL. I wasn’t going to make a public post about this but seeing as how With The Punches wants to call me a scumbag, let me explain and layout the details in this.
With The Punches asked for a $400 guarantee to come from NJ/CT to Mass; I originally agreed to this as I was told their end of promotion for this show was going to start as soon as the flier was finished. The flier had been done 3 or so days after the bill was filled; I contacted them Friday before the show and brought up the fact that they were asking for an excessive amount, especially considering they hadn’t promoted what so ever. I would rather their ridiculous guarantee go to the bands on the show that had promoted. I also had 2 other touring bands on the show, with respect for other touring artists they could of considered lowering their guarantee.
For the record, they were coming to the venue in two cars and using Athletics equipment. I calculated the gas expenses using AAA and it would of roughly came out to $204 - round trip.ALL IN ALL:
I offered WTP $250 - $300 depending on their draw; which is plenty for gas and food. They’re the ones that chose money over coming out to play for their fans. Who are the scumbags now?
I absolutely will not allow them to defile my name as a promoter - I respect, give what I can and work well with every single band that I have booked.
Not one promoter I know is going to shovel out $400 to a band that doesn’t promote when they say they’re going to and isn’t showing the promise of drawing as many kids their guarantee calls for.
I know this isn’t hardcore related but some of you dig With The Punches and I figured it’d be nice to put the truth of the matter out there for everyone.
So here’s the deal, With The Punches dropped and I ain’t even mad. BUT! Bellwether and American Verse has hopped on! :)

This show is gonna be so killer! I’m stoked as all hell to make the trip out to this. Haven’t been to Massachusetts since…. last April? Yeah, the last time I went out to MA was for Coheed and Cambria’s Second Stage Turbine Blade show at the House of Blues.
Wait, no. I went to Warped Tour in Mansfield, Massachusetts. How could I forget that? It randomly started pouring when I was checking out The Venetia Fair’s set! Rained hard too, the rest of the day was chilly as fuck. That reminds me, I’ve got 4 dates of Warped Tour 2011 videos to upload.
Anyway, yes. This show! New music from WTP and Athletics? Yes please. Thank you PPRAE for making all this happen, even down to the flyer. This line-up is absolutely worth the 5 hour drive!
